One In Three Vaccinated

The numbers are in on the popularity of the cervical cancer vaccine, Gardasil.

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) survey finds that while 37 percent of girls/teens receive at least one shot, only 18 percent of girls receive all of the three-shot series, the recommended doseage over a six-month period to protect against some viruses that cause cervical cancer and genital warts.

The numbers come from girls who were surveyed and vaccinated through 2008, reports WebMD.

In 2007, about one in four adolescents had received the first dose of the vaccine. Proponents hoped for larger numbers. Cervical cancer kills about 4,000 in the U.S. every year.

Gardasil, made by Merck & Co. was approved in 2006 to protect against two types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that cause genital warts and two that cause cervical cancers.

It is approved for girls ages 9 through 26, before they become sexually active, and Merck just received an initial approval from an FDA advisory panel to expand the use for boys.

Meanwhile rival vaccine, GlaxoSmithKline’s Ceravix, should be approved this year.

The use of Gardasil seems to vary by state, reports the CDC in Thursday’s issue of Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report which surveyed nearly 18,000 adolescents who allowed researchers to check their records, reports AP.

More than half of teen girls ages 13-through-17 had at least one shot in six states – Arizona, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

States with the highest number of users include Rhode Island at 54.7 percent, and New Hampshire 54.4 percent. States with the lowest number of users include Mississippi at 15.8 percent and Georgia at 18.5 percent. Some parents have expressed their belief that giving the shot promotes sexual activity.

The effectiveness of Gardasil is unknown.

HPV is spread through sexual contact. There are more than 100 different types of HPV and some low risk varieties can cause genital warts. Most people do not develop cancer from HPV which can be detected with a PAP test.

Many doctors do not feel comfortable prescribing a medication until it has been on the market for at least five years.

Adverse Events

IB News has reported extensively on the side effects or adverse events some girls suffer after being given Gardasil.

As of June 1, 2009, the CDC reports that as of June 1, 2009, there were 14,072 reports of adverse events following a Gardasil vaccination among 25 million doses. Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), which causes muscle weakness, is one of the more common reactions following inoculation, as is fainting, dizziness, numbness, migraines, blood clots, and muscle aches.

Last year, Judicial Watch, a Washington D.C- based public interest group, using the Freedom of Information Act, obtained from the FDA reports of nearly 9,000 adverse health events reported to the government and 18 deaths.

Not yet recorded are anecdotal reports. Thursday night a Jacksonville grandmother told First Coast News that her granddaughter died two days after receiving the third Gardasil shot in February 2008. She was a healthy 17-year-old.

Despite the reports, the CDC continues to recommend Gardasil for teen girls before they are sexually active. #

My 13 year old daughter was injured by Gardasil and completely disabled for the past year. Merck got it right when they used the slogan "One Less" for Gardasil. Because of Gardasil, my daughter was "One Less". She was "One Less Student", "One Less Active Child", "One Less in every aspect of her life". Take it from a mother who has spent the past year sitting by my child's bedside wondering if she would die in her sleep. INVESTIGATE BEFORE YOU VACCINATE. DO NOT trust your doctor to make this decision. If you want to understand Merck's role in the medical community, investigate some of their former wonderdrugs such as VIOXX and then marvel at how many people died from it before it was pulled off the market. The CDC AND FDA need to do their job and get this off the market before more children are harmed. The public is not aware of VAERS and the #'s are grossly understated. I have had to tell my child's doctors about VAERS and make them file reports or she would not be one of the current statistics in VAERS. Even then, her information has not been entered correctly so I know that VAERS is not what it should be. Please do not let this happen to your child. There is NO WAY that I will get my son this vaccine.

My 16 yr old daughter was also injured by Gardasil. She had 2 of the 3 injections (Jan 9th and March 9th, 2009). Before Gardasil, she was a happy, healthy and vibrant teenager. Since Gardasil she is sick every day of her life. She has dizziness, overall weakness, numbness and tingling in both legs and left arm, back pain, neck pain, pressure headaches, vision problems, breathing problems, chest pains, racing heartbeats, brain fog, stomach problems, nausea, diarhea, weight loss, hair loss, jerking all over spells...the list goes on and on.

She was an A/B student but failed her 10th grade year because she was too sick to retain what she was trying to learn (brain fog). She no longer has the energy to go off with her friends. Most days she lays in bed, in pain.
This just doesnt happen to a healthy teenager!! And it just doesnt happen to THOUSANDS of other girls with no connection except they all had the Gardasil vaccine.

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

Please educate yourself as much as you can before you allow a doctor to push this unproven and unsafe vaccine on your daughter! The guilt is overwhelming from a mothers' standpoint! I thought I was doing something to protect my daughter. Instead, I allowed the doctor to inject poison into my child and take away her life!

My daughter was also injured by Gardasil. It took me over two years to put it all together. Pneumonia, dehydration, migraines, chronic-fatigue ... and menstrual changes. So many children with B vitamin deficiencies will experience debilitating side effects from this vaccine. Wait another two-three years and see what comes out. Many girls had extra yeast in their lots numbers ... so if you notice ANY unusual symptoms in your child, immediately get them on a B complex vitamin. Look into PK deficiency ... you may have a genetic trait that would make any and ALL vaccines unsafe for you and your family. Please ... write your congressmen and ask that they demand this vaccine (and others with similar ingreds) be pulled.

My 17 year old daughter was also injured by Gardasil. She became symptomatic the next day! At first it was dizziness, nausea and abdominal pain. These symptoms became more severe as time passed to include: back pain, chest pain, difficulty breathing, muscle weakness, nerve pain, headache, burning skin, stabbing abdominal pain. She was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy to her feet. At times it was so severe, she could not take a step without screaming out in pain!
She has been sick for the last 5 months - and counting! This vaccine needs to be recalled!

Gabby...please dont get the third shot!
Alot of the girls in our yahoo group, lets talk about gardasil, had your symptoms after the 2nd shot and after the third shot, thats when everything really got bad.

I urge you to try and convince your mother to do some research. These are real stories, real girls, real side effects! And having all 3 shots while you are having these symptoms is NOT a good idea at all! It will push you overboard.

You can see alot of the girls that I know at this link:

LINK ://lecafpolitiquedecamusdecaf.blogspot.com/2009/09/gardasil-and-how-it-has-affected-lives_14.html

My 16 year old daughter is one of the stories at that website. Her name is Kristyn Allen.

If your mom needs to talk to me, please tell her to go to LINK and email me. I will be glad to send her some information. Your life as you know it is hanging by a very dangerous thread!
